Glistening showcase of jewellery awaits at HK twin jewellery shows this week

02-03-2026   12:20 PM

All eyes will be on the city's gems tomorrow as the twin jewellery shows—the world's largest one-stop jewellery marketplace—return with over 4,000 exhibitors from more than 40 countries.

Under a "two shows, two venues" format, the 12th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show will be held from 2 to 6 March at AsiaWorld-Expo, while the 42nd Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will take place from 4 to 8 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.

This year's twin shows bring together about 4,000 exhibitors, with 70 percent coming from outside Hong Kong—offering buyers the chance to source rare pieces and draw inspiration from innovative concepts and designs across the globe.

Notably, participation from Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, and India has grown significantly this year, while Uzbekistan is making its debut with 10 exhibitors.

Gold, timepieces, and first-time pavilions
With growing interest in gold's enduring value, the World Gold Council has set up a "Hard Pure Gold Pavilion" with 11 exhibitors for the first time, showcasing innovative gold manufacturing technology to the international market.

Additionally, the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association will present jewellery timepiece craftsmanship with its debut pavilion at the Jewellery Show, while the Zhushan Turquoise Pavilion from Hubei will also make its first appearance.

Spotlight on international fine jewellery
Continuing tradition, the "Hall of Extraordinary" will showcase high-end collections, with highlights including an 18K white and rose gold ring set with blue and light pink diamonds and rubies displaying the coveted "pigeon blood red" colour.

Adding to the luxury, the "Hall of Fame" has expanded by 40 percent this year, with one exhibitor enlisting global ambassador Jennifer Lopez for their campaign.

Meanwhile, creative design zones are expected to be another focus, whereas Designer Galleria brings together over 50 Korean and emerging designers, offering a fusion of styles to serve customers with different aesthetics.

British historian and jewellery expert Jack Ogden will also delve into the evolution of craftsmanship and aesthetics, as well as jewellery styling.

Creativity on display
Visitors can also witness the clash of creativity as several competitions take place during the fairs, including the Hong Kong International Fashion Chuk Kam Jewellery Design Competition 2026, organised by the Jewellers' and Goldsmiths' Association of Hong Kong Limited, and the inaugural International Fei Cui Jewellery Design Competition 2026, organised by the Hong Kong Jade Association.

Among them, the 27th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition, themed "Pure Elegance – Natural Beauty," returns to nurture emerging talent, with results and winning designs to be announced at the International Jewellery Show.

Enhancing the overall experience, the twin jewellery shows will feature over 20 activities and events, ranging from industry seminars to jewellery parades and networking cocktails.

Global connections
To facilitate business connections, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council(HKTDC) has streamlined buyer registration with a digital verification process.

Major e-commerce platforms, along with influencer booths and seminars, will also be in place to share insights on online marketing strategies.

With a network spanning over 50 offices worldwide, it is reported that the HKTDC has pulled together more than 110 buyer missions, bringing buyers from over 140 countries and regions to Hong Kong.

Beyond the fairs, the council has partnered with the Tourism Board to offer activities like "Happy Wednesday" racing and midweek nightlife tours, along with exclusive dining, flight, and hotel deals—blending business with the best of Hong Kong.
