Backed by Goldiam, ORIGEM Plans 200 Store Launch for LGD Jewellery

25-06-2025   02:40 PM

ORIGEM, a modern lab-grown diamond jewellery brand backed by NSE and BSE-listed Goldiam International Ltd., is expanding its footprint in India’s evolving diamond retail segment. With a mission to make large solitaire jewellery more accessible, the brand is looking to challenge long-standing market norms by offering internationally inspired designs at competitive price points.

Founded under the leadership of Anmol Bhansali, Managing Director of Goldiam International Ltd ORIGEM leverages over four decades of global diamond expertise to meet the demands of India’s new-age consumer. Abhinav Kumar, President of ORIGEM, brings experience from leading retail brands like Titan, U.S. Polo Assn., and ALDO, and is responsible for translating this vision into a scalable, consumer-facing business.

The brand positions itself at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and design. Its jewellery is crafted using IGI-certified lab-grown diamonds set in BIS Hallmarked 18kt and 14kt gold, addressing a growing market segment that values ethical sourcing and affordability. ORIGEM’s collections take cues from Goldiam’s international bestsellers, tailored to suit Indian preferences with a focus on contemporary aesthetics and product precision.

Goldiam, which has a significant presence in American and European jewellery exports, has seen a major shift in revenue contributions. Lab-grown diamonds now account for over 70 percent of its B2B revenue, up from just 5 percent earlier. ORIGEM is capitalising on this shift, using it as a launchpad to build a dedicated lab-grown diamond jewellery brand for the Indian market.

Currently, ORIGEM operates a flagship outlet on Turner Road in Bandra, Mumbai, with additional stores in Borivali, Andheri, Kharghar, Mulund, and inside the Fairmont Hotel. These locations have enabled the brand to reach urban, aspirational consumers and validate product-market fit. ORIGEM now plans to open 200 exclusive stores across India over the next three years, indicating strong confidence in the lab-grown diamond segment’s growth potential.
